Cellular structure, sculpted for everyday life
Bionik is a low-cost toothbrush—just €1.70 for two—designed with high-form ambition. It explores how organic design can live even within the tightest manufacturing constraints—redefining what “affordable” can look and feel like.

Research - grip study & design preferences
During the research phase, I observed a wide range of toothbrush gripping behaviors to identify key pressure points and define optimal dimensions. Material preference studies showed that target users are more drawn to handles that appear streamlined and slightly flexible, offering both visual softness and tactile comfort. Although positioned in the low-cost market, the design intentionally avoids a “cheap” aesthetic by introducing a sculptural form and refined surface texture—enhancing the user’s psychological comfort and sense of trust.
设计调研- 手感与品质感
在调研阶段,我观察了用户握持牙刷的多种方式,推导出合理的受力区域与尺寸比例。同时,针对目标用户进行材质偏好调研,发现多数人更倾向于看起来更流线并有弹性的牙刷柄。尽管产品定位于低价市场,我仍尝试通过新颖的造型与细腻的表面处理,提升使用时的心理感受与信任感。

Development - From sketch to scalable production
The design process began with hand sketches and 2D studies, gradually evolving into 3D modeling and prototyping. Through close collaboration with engineers, we ensured a perfectly flat bristle mounting surface and identified the most efficient parting strategy for two-shot injection molding. Ultimately, by adjusting the elasticity of the plastic material, we enabled different hardness levels without changing the mold—significantly reducing production costs while enhancing the product’s competitiveness in the low-cost market.
设计过程 - 从草图到生产原型
整个设计流程从手绘草图和平面图形开始,逐步发展为3D建模与原型验证。通过与工程师的深入合作,我们确保了刷毛植入面的绝对平整,并找到了二次注塑工艺下最合理的分件方式。最终,通过调整塑料材料的弹性参数,就可以在不更换模具的前提下实现不同的硬度版本,大幅降低了成本,也增强了产品在低价定位下的竞争力。

Bionik is a reflection of how thoughtful design can exist even within the tightest cost constraints. Every detail—from the organic form to the modular material strategy—was shaped by a desire to elevate everyday objects without increasing complexity. This project is not just about designing a toothbrush, but about exploring how design can quietly improve daily life through precision, empathy, and manufacturing intelligence.
Bionik 体现了在极限成本下,设计依然可以有追求、有温度。从有机造型到材料策略的每一处细节,都是在简化制造的前提下,为日常物件注入多一层体验感。这不只是一次牙刷的设计实践,更是一种关于“平价美学”可能性的探索。
